“If you support Giuliani, you aren't supporting family values”
Republican presidential candidate greeted with pickets at appearance in Orange County
June 13 /Christian Newswire -- Republicans upset with Rudy Giuliani's anti-family policies protested on Sunday, June 10th when the "Republican" presidential candidate appeared in Irvine. A "Rudy Giuliani in drag" was among dozens of sign-holding protestors outside the hotel.
"Imagine what heads of state would think of an American president known for dressing up as a woman," said Bob Cielnicky, a southern California pro-life leader. "What was Rudy Giuliani thinking when he did this publicly three times as mayor of New York? Obviously not the Presidency."
Propelled into national prominence by the 2001 World Trade Center attack, Giuliani is running as a "Republican." But many Republicans are discovering Giuliani's liberal views on foundational issues of abortion, homosexuality, judges, and gun control, and they don't like it. Giuliani is in conflict with the Republican Party platform and principles.
As mayor, Giuliani was a steadfast abortion advocate who even supported partial-birth abortion. Records show Giuliani made six personal donations to Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion provider.
Mayor Giuliani pushed for and signed a law that awarded pseudo-marriage rights to homosexual partners. Giuliani marched in several New York City Gay Pride parades, the last one three months before 9/11. After committing adultery and being evicted from the mayor's mansion by his wife, Giuliani moved in with a homosexual couple. He went on to marry his third wife and become her third husband.
A Politico review of the 75 judges Mayor Giuliani appointed found that Democrats outnumbered Republicans by more than 8 to 1. Giuliani's judicial appointments included a lesbian activist and an abortion activist.
As mayor, Giuliani aggressively went after two dozen major gun manufacturers and distributors with a lawsuit filed by New York City. That lawsuit prompted federal legislation to protect Second Amendment rights, however, the case is still open.
"It's appalling to see some Republicans abandoning their Republican Party core principles for Rudy Giuliani," said Ken Fisher, a conservative Republican activist in Orange County. "If you support Giuliani, you aren't supporting family values."

Where is Giuliani's bishop? Does he care so little for the souls in his charge that are being put at risk of eternal perdition by Giuliani's public scandal and those apostates of his ilk, not the least of which is Giuliani's, that he will say nothing? Is that showing love and compassion? Is that being a Catholic? Is that what Jesus did in the New Testament, Jesus, who talked more about the consequences of grave sin than any other Biblical figure? Until we get bishops who are Catholic who care about the last things, death, judgment, Heaven and hell, i.e., the only reason for their existence as priests, the sad refrain of Catholic frauds like Giuliani will repeat itself. Some prominent saints have been reported as saying that "The road to hell is paved with the skulls of bishops!" Truer words have never been spoken!

And, conversely, If you don't support Giuliani you are supporting ignorance, prejudice, hypocricy, irrationality and hollow piety.

How many pro-abort, pro-man-on-man marriage, pro-criminal alien invader so-called catholic senators in both sold out parties do we have 12 or 14? Sam Brownback is the only pro-life, pro-normal marriage Catholic senator and he is for amnesty for an illegal alien army who will vote us out of our country. This is our bishops fault. Our bishops are not Catholic period.

Sorry, but I can't empathize with these sentiments. The parade of horribles has long passed me by. Only those who still think of the Republicans as "their party" have problems with Giuliani being the nominee. Move on people! Either get used to the idea that Catholic positions will be terribly marginalized or get off your duffs and start a Catholic political party.

Does Giuliani receive Communion? I've seen no article claiming that he does.

I don't see how a pro-abortion candidate can possibly defend America and the world against the jihad. Here in Britain an immigrant has just been convicted of the "honour killing" of his daughter, who had run away from an arranged marriage. The pro-abortion establishment refuses to recognise that they themselves can make no appeal to conscience on this matter. They will not reflect on the fact that this murderer acted within the Liberal "principle" of the privacy of a parent to terminate a dehumanised offspring. Conversion is the best long term weapon against the jihad, and it is not going to come from anti-humans.

As a New Yorkers, Giuliani was my HERO at the WTC. Yet, more of a hero were the 300+ firemen and policemen who were pulverized by those psychotics (who incidentally are the REAL infidels - mortally sinful - intentionally flying those planes into the towers killing all those innocent peole - they went straight to HELL. But... as for you, Rudy...thats as far as I go (even though I personally like you very much) You are wrong! Tacitly allowing and agreeing to the killing of babies and promoting homosexuality places your soul in jepordy with God. Repent, go to confession. You will never become president because of this. Fred Thompson will be our next President! BTW, Charlie Sheen - you are off your rocker. Didn't you see the videos of the planes hitting the WTC...Your acting days are over due to loss of credibility.

What is up with the quotes around Republican in the article? THe GOP has slid this far for years, wake up. Bush has mostly pro-abort, pro-gay leaders around him and has appointed may queers to high offices(Amb to Romania, #2 in Commerce, etc).
Change your voting habits.

Core Republican values are small government, local control, freedom of person and honest civil service. How does Giuliani stand on those? Making political decisions based on religious issues got us in the mess we're in now.
