“We Are So Close, Lisa”
Planned Parenthood Targets Catholics
Editor: Lisa, a California Catholic, received the following email from Planned Parenthood. The first two paragraphs in bold were headlined by an accompanying “Urgent”,>/i>
Catholic bishops are doing all they can to force anti-choice amendments into the health care reform bill — and they're instructing their congregations to help them.
Stand up for women's health and tell your senators and representative to reject this dangerous effort from the Catholic bishops.
Dear Lisa,
A few days ago, it felt as if we were holding strong in achieving health care reform that would finally ensure comprehensive coverage for everyone. As the legislation began moving closer to a vote, I knew that our job holding on to our reproductive health victories would be hard ... and then I received a copy of a memo that the Catholic bishops sent to their congregations.
As I write this, the bishops have asked all the Catholics in the country to contact their legislators, asking them to alter current health care legislation to include anti-choice amendments. The bishops have inserted letters into church bulletins and asked priests to include their call to action in their sermons — and even in their prayers — during Sunday services.
It's clear that every group opposed to a woman's right to choose is pulling out all the stops this week to bring all the progress we've made on health care reform to a grinding halt. The results could be devastating to everyone who desperately needs health care, including the women, men, and teens that Planned Parenthood serves. Once again, we urgently need your help.
First, please contact your senators and representative right now, asking them to protect women, to protect our health care, to protect our rights and not cave to the vocal minority. I know that you've likely e-mailed and called before, and I'm asking you to do it again today — and it won't be the last time. Thank you for not letting up.
Second, spread the word. I truly believe that if people know what the bishops and other groups are doing, they will be outraged, and they will speak up. Drowning them out won't be easy, but your action today will help.
One thing I know for sure — the bishops don't speak for all Catholics. From one Catholic Planned Parenthood supporter:
What bothers me most is this: Millions of people are uninsured and hundreds of thousands die every year as a result. And, to see my church sacrifice health care reform for the sake of this one issue is just going too far. They don't represent me, and they don't represent my beliefs. I'm speaking out, and I'm asking my Catholic friends and family to do the same.
If you're Catholic and you disagree with the bishops, please let your legislators know when you send your message. Your voice as a pro-choice Catholic needs to be heard NOW.
We are so close, Lisa. In my lifetime, we've never been closer to expanding access to affordable health care for everyone. I don't think we'll get another chance, and we've got to do everything we can not to let it slip away. Rest assured, Planned Parenthood is doing all we can. Every time a group tries to limit the care and rights of women and their families, we will be here for them. And we know that you, too, will be right here with us. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Cecile Richards, President
Planned Parenthood Federation of America

I keep hearing those words, "Planned Parenthood....Planned Parehthood". What does that mean, really? It is an agreement between a husband, a wife and Almighty GOD to serve Life. Perhaps I'm not expressing it correctly but Planning FOR Parenthood is the Natural Way of Life...As it should be.... Not as someone, or some group has tried to distort it.

As many have noted on the various threads on this site, there are posts which attempt all manner of deception, from crude lies to sophisticated deceptions. The truth needs all the more to be shined into these dark areas such as Planned Parenthood.

What is so utterly repellent about Ms.Richards' letter is its total lack of logic..to the point of lunacy. In her addled mind, killing babies is 'health care'. The anti-Catholic letter from a supposed 'Catholic' is another example of people who actually think they're Catholic because they were raised in the Church even though they have no understanding of what being Catholic entails and are in direct opposition to its tenets. We need to really pray for these people with 'compassionate hearts'. (but also keep fighting the good fight against heresy and evil).

What is sad is that the constant lies and distortions of the liberal media has actually caused some Catholics to question one of the two key elements of their faith... the belief in God, and the protection of the "least" amongst us...the unborn. (Love God and your neighbor)

They make it sound as if this is the ONLY problem with the health care proposal! This bill is one of the WORST piece of legislation I've ever seen...worse than the horrifically wasteful, corrupt stimulus package! It does NOT address the KEY factors that have caused MOST of the REAL problems...corrupt insurance and drug legislation that gives them insane power over our lives with NO liability and greedy drug and insurance companies sucking up 40-60% of the medical dollars!!!!

" you're Catholic and you disagree with the bishops, please let your legislators know when you send your message. Your voice as a pro-choice Catholic needs to be heard NOW."
Shall I rephrase this. If you are Catholic, and you disagree with the bishops, you are a heretic. Head straight for the nearest confessional and unite yourself with the Body of Christ. There is no such thing as a "Pro-abortion" Catholic."
Planned Parenthood is a business. It seeks taxpayer money in order to kill the next generation. Stop Planned Parenthood and their evil intentions NOW.

Cecile Richards should be writing an apology to the taxpayers for having the gall to seek their hard-earned money so that Planned Barrenhood can sterilize the women of this country, kill their children, and promote promiscuity among the young.
Abortion is not healthcare but women like Cecile Richards would rather jettison the entire bill than put "Moses" in the reeds so that someone else might care for him.
Read the Bible, Cecile, you have turned your back on the Lord and need to come to the light of Christ.
We Catholics stand on the rock of Rome. You persecuters of Rome, are on shifting sand. Beware! Mary has promised the crush the head of serpents like your organization.

It was a Planned Barrenhood (or is it Banned Parenthood?) which commissioned a search for a term to sanitize abortion:
"pro choice". Sadly, even Catholics continue to use their term. In fact, every single person who uses that term unknowingly promotes PP's agenda.

"They don't represent me, and they don't represent my beliefs."
So that person is not a Catholic and does not represent us. Real Catholics follow our beliefs as laid out by our founder, Jesus Christ, and do not protest these beliefs. Protesting Christ's church equals protestant.

Click on anything resembling "SOS SENIORS" and current law in effect WHICH MAY CHANGE AT ANY TIME is addressed. Free paper copies are offered, and, yes, I am the one who offers Welk and Woody Guidry videos.

just as an aside, I'd like to know if, since there is a medicl condition knwn as postpartum depression, is there a medical condition also known as post-abortion depression, has it ever been studied and have any medical journals ever written about it? I've always been concerned about abortion because so many women suffer in silence after an abortion. I feel sorry for the little infants in the womb but my heart goes out more to suffering fullgrown women.

That photo of Cecile Richards looks so pleasant and unthreatening. Don't be deceived! It just goes to show the devil wears many disguises!

This letter is nutty. Planned Parenthood stands for making money through abortion. It has no interests in womens' health issues, except permitting them to come in quickly and spend money to terminate the lives of their babies. PP is terrified that its gravy train is not only slowing down, but may stop. Why stop public support for "dangerous" products, like tobacco, when PP will always kill, often with tragic aftereffects on the mother. These a very bad people. Pray for them. Work against them.

A former director of a Texas Planned Parenthood branch who resigned after she watched an ultrasound-guided abortion said the clinic was pushing employees to strive for abortion quotas to boost profits.
The clinic director Abby Johnson said. "We'd had a goal every month for abortion clients and for family planning clients."

This situation has gone far beyond dialogue, if there ever was an honest dialogue. The Devil sets up these no win situations for us as he did for Christ. Without the help of God we can do nothing. These kinds of devils and their human allies can only be cast out by prayer and fasting, and we will suffer for it. The destruction of the unborn is simply one gruesome aspect of an all out assault on the Catholic Church, which, sadly, has been greatly aided and abetted by a significant number of bishops and priests as it had been during the Reformation. The society at large does not respect us, it hates us, and for the same reason it hated Jesus and the Jews. Biblical morality is anathema to them. I used to tell my students that the day would come when they would hate the Catholics as much as they hate the Jews. That day has come. And they will persecute us for speaking the Truth. We have the promise of Jesus that he who perservers to the end will be saved and the gates of hell will not prevail. In fact, the more we are attacked the stronger we become. In Russia, they almost succeeded in destroying the Orthodox Church, but where are the Communists today? The Orthodox Church is stronger today than it was before the Russian Revolution and Civil War. Pray the Rosary.

There is nothing new under the sun. This reminds me of the garden of Eden and the fall. Didn't that Adam and Eve go happily along, obediently, until a figure came from the shadows to say, "Don't listen to Him. He doesn't speak for you. I will tell you what's really going on; what He doesn't want you to know."

To One of the Sheep:
Being Catholic is much more than going to Church, taking Communion, or going to confession. It's realizing that theft, slander, gluttony, gossip, murder, and sacrificing babies in abortion is worshiping Baal, the false god of personal convenience. Who remain unrepentant in these things will never be Catholic or enter the joyous Presence of God.

Betty, there is a lot of study and literature on the consequences of abortion. Just start searching.

The absolute truth of Christianity subsists in the Catholic Church alone. Many are the paths that lead away from her. Those who support Planned Parenthood, are supporting and intrinsic evil. Planned Parenthood supports the killing of babies, unwanted by the mothers, and unprotected by the law. Planned Parenthood exploit the weak for profit, and destroys the nature of humanity, and the nature of God. Here are nine ways we can share in the guilt of another’s sin. By counsel, by command, by consent, by provocation, by praise or flattery, by concealment, by being a partner in sin, by silence, by defending the ill done.
Tom.

Planned Parenthood -Home base of people with dead souls.Satan;s camp on earth.
They are dead in sin like Lazarus,Only a true repentance can save them, that's it .if we pray hard enough for them.
Of all religions,Christian are the only one who promote love toward their enemies.
These liberals are not convince that they have souls to lose
but we do..and Christ died that the lost may be redeemed.
Christ died for us and for these sinners on the road to Hell.
This is worth fighting for,not only for the unborn but also for thier souls. This is a spiritual warfare and we know too well
whose sides they are.
Light your candles and start searching in the dark.
While not lowering our faith to their standard.Hating the sins ,but not the sinners...Be a church's militant,a fighter for souls for Christ.

"Lisa, Lisa, help me to ensure that more people take the 'option' of killing their babies in the womb by availing themselves of the new legislation which will pass on the cost of 'terminations' to the tax payer ( you), which will add to the $300million which we, PP, already receive from that lovely new President and his caring legislators. Please hurry Lisa. PP desperately needs more money from every single taxpayer. Killing is an expensive service ( and lucrative) so we need to increase our market share by getting you and all taxpayers to pay for those who don't even want to use their own money to kill their offspring. I hope i can count on you Lisa, and the millions of other Lisa's out there in this great nation, the United States of Abortion."

Why whinge about ‘bigoted’conspiracies because democracy( when permitted!) reflects truths liberals don't want to hear and refuse to accept. The USA is still a God fearing and respecting country, despite the best efforts of most media and public 'personalities'.You cannot be a Christian,Muslim, Jew or whatever if you ‘reject’ the basic teachings of said religion. To ask believers to vote against their beliefs so as to conform to secular standards is asking them to reject the teachings of God. If you prefer to believe that religious teachings are based on fables, that is your decision but you cannot legally enforce it or reclassify religious teachings as ‘hate speech’ because it refuses to bow to the pressure of secular opinion formers. What is intrinsically wrong is always so. Live and let live but stop trying to force 'the people' to accept ideas which their agnostic common sense, or religious conscience screams to them is just 'wrong'.

Though she is not Catholic, Cecile Richards can now claim herself as "The Popette of dissenting Catholics" Her second-in-command Nancy Pelosi. We can call her office the Congregation for the Docrtrine of Faithless.

JS, where to start searching please? It just occurred to me one day that besides talking about killing innocent babies before they have a chance at life (and I'm not knocking it) there is hardly any comments about the harm a woman is doing to herself when she chooses to have an abortion and I started looking for documented studies on post-abortion depression if there are any.

Since when could Catholic Bishops force any politician to do anything. They weren't able to stop Roe versus Wade in 1973. Close to 50 million unborn baby Americans have paid the ultimate price as a result of the Roe versus Wade decision. Asking their congregations to be pro-life and support the life of unborn baby children is the least a Catholic Bishop could do. It's their duty as shepherds of the flock to promote the culture of life in their dioceses and archdioceses around America.

betty, contact Rachel's Vineyard and see what they know about it. Their pastoral director is Fr. Frank Pavone, need I say more? Or call Priests for Life, or call Human Life International. Sometimes, as I've found, even with the best organizations one reaches a dingbat. Just work on it til you get the help you seek. These three organizations are among the best ... and are national and international; however, they can direct you to specific needs, and even local groups or local yokuls who know their stuff and can show you that the sun rises as well as sets.

Joshua, Roe passed not because the bishops failed but because they succeeded in bringing it about, just as they've succeeded in bringing about the most egregious abortion fanatic in history as the US president. There is an abundance of wicked bishops; the counter attack, however, has begun and will prevail. Jesus tells the story of the wheat and the tares ... check it out.

betty, the topic is substantial and you'll have to study lots of stuff for a thorough basis upon which to gain the grace God is extending to you and/or someone else or others. But in brief, yes, when someone murders someone else, one of the results is despair. Read the story of Cain and Abel. There is much more to it than one hears or even reads unless one explores the story itself with careful attention to each step in it ... it deals with some of the most profound things man can deal with. The Church has always provided the path to healing, which is not through a bunch of new age attempts, but through the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Sometimes these sacraments can and need to be extended beyond the few moments one is involved in them. For example, when one leaves Mass, one goes in peace to serve God ... this is not some simple thing. If the person is not at peace, then there is a lot for this person to do to achieve the peace. There are first rate programs designed to bring about this peace. But don't settle for a cheap peace ... go for the gold through the Sacraments.

A real Christian is never pro-abortion nor does a real Christians compromise the dignity of any human life. Therefore this women is not Catholic. You can't be both, Catholic and pro-death, you just can't.

This is about what GOD WANTS not what WE WANT. One cannot change the TRUTH!! LIFE is SACRED and it BELONGS to GOD. CHILDREN are GIFTS. We should not reject GOD's GIFTS and kill his CREATION. A true Catholic professes to believe in what the Catholic Church teaches as it's teaching is infallible - It's God's TRUTH which has always been the truth. You cannot be ProChoice and be Catholic. If that is what you declare, then your mind, heart and soul are missing God's Truth. Making something socially acceptable does not make it acceptable in the EYES of GOD.
