“Overt indoctrination”

San Francisco first graders get ‘field trip’ to same-sex wedding

SAN FRANCISCO, October 11 /Christian Newswire/ -- In the same week that the No on 8 campaign launched an ad that labeled as "lies" claims that same-sex marriage would be taught in schools to young children, a first grade class took a school-sponsored trip to a gay wedding.

Eighteen first graders traveled to San Francisco City Hall on Friday, Oct. 10, for the wedding of their teacher and her lesbian partner, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. The school sponsored the trip for the students, ages 5 and 6, taking them away from their studies for the same-sex wedding. According to the Yes on 8 campaign, the public school field trip demonstrates that the California Supreme Court's decision to legal same-sex marriage has real consequences.

"Taking children out of school for a same-sex wedding is not customary education. This is promoting same-sex marriage and indoctrinating young kids," said Yes on 8-ProtectMarriage.com campaign co-manager Frank Schubert. "I doubt the school has ever taken kids on a field trip to a traditional wedding."

When asked by the Yes on 8 campaign, the Chronicle reporter said she did not know if the school had ever sponsored a field trip for students to a traditional wedding. The school’s principal told the Chronicle that the field trip was "a teachable moment" that was perfectly appropriate for first graders.

Officials in other school districts disagree.

"Prop. 8 protects our children from being taught in public schools that 'same-sex marriage' is the same as traditional marriage," said Santa Ana Unified School District board member Rosemarie "Rosie" Avila. "We should not accept a court decision that results in public schools teaching our kids that gay marriage is okay. That is an issue for parents to discuss with their children according to their own values and beliefs. It shouldn't be forced on us against our will.”

The lesbian teacher's wedding was officiated by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom. Newsom is featured in a Yes on 8 television ad, released last week, in which he arrogantly declares of same-sex marriage: "The door's wide open now. It's gonna happen, whether you like it or not."

The Yes on 8 campaign's ads explain that if the voters do not overturn the California Supreme Court's same-sex marriage ruling, teachers will be required to teach young children that there is no difference between gay marriage and traditional marriage.

"It's totally unreasonable that a first grade field trip would be to a same-sex wedding," said Chip White, press secretary for Yes on 8. "This is overt indoctrination of children who are too young to understand it."

The trip underscores the Yes on 8 campaign's message that unless Prop. 8 passes, children will be taught about same-sex marriage in public schools, said White. "Not only can it happen, it has already happened," he said.

Wait A Minute.....The children could not have been taken to this event without their parent's permission. Why not ask the parents about this? That is, if this so called, "Field Trip" really took place.

Imagine if this happened to your kid without you're knowing about it until afterword. It would be hard for me at least to control my anger

It ought to be noted that the school was the Creative Arts Charter School. The parents were given the option to opt their kids out. Only two did. This particular field trip seems to reflect the community values of this particular school. Interestedly, y the d same hay this appeared I got an e-mail from my friend Julie which read in part "A few weeks ago, while romping around, Sylvie, our five-year old, asked, "If we don't win No on 8, who do I go with - Mommy Julie or Mommy Jenni?" After re-assuring her that her mommies will be together no matter what happens in the election, it really brought home how deeply our kids are impacted by our homophobic society. They should not feel scared, and their moms' marriage should not be up for a popular vote November 4th."

"Yes on 8" should make another commercial, showing footage of the first graders celebrating their teacher's pseudo marriage and disordered relationship, and asking whether they want their children taught and exposed to such deviancy in schools. I don't think many Californians realize what's at stake. At Mass yesterday the priest gave a rather good homily in support of Proposition 8, and I heard parishioners saying afterwards that they didn't even know that Proposition 8 was on the ballot. Let's hope that homosexuals have gone too far this time in their vanity and pride and it will lead to their defeat at the polls in November.

Thank you, Mayor Nuisance: you just got at least 10,000 more votes for Proposition 8. (I'm being sarcastic: how dare public employees expose children to evil!)

Posted Monday, October 13, 2008 7:35 AM By Fr. M.P.
This is all done to remove the shame associated with the unnatural perversion of homosexual behavior. It's all part of the gay agenda.

What are the Catholics in San Francisco doing about it? I was at Saint Dominic's Church, and they are always lukewarm. Please stop blaming the world and start admitting the truth

More evidence that homeschooling is better for our children than government "education".

Posted Monday, October 13, 2008 11:09 AM By Prop 8 YES!
In reality, there is only one "kind" of marriage and that is marriage. There is only one "type" of wedding and that is a wedding. The law is lying and has lied to us before: think slavery, segregation, and disrespect for the innate right of life. These children were taken not to a wedding but to a charade with with the collaboration of a distorted law. Renew reality! Prop 8 Yes!

"it really brought home how deeply our kids are impacted by our homophobic society. " Grisha, I don't think the word "homophobic" should ever be used in proper intellectual discourse. It's a smear word, plain and simple.

This is exactly why Californians need to vote Yes on 8. Stop the forcible indoctrination of children into this sick and evil (to quote God ABOMINATION) lifestyle.

Thomas: Yes, FEAR of impending realities, such as have been clearly reveal in the legal persecution of Christians in Sweden and Canada who have defied the gay agenda. I don't want the Catholic school I work for closed because the Church loses its tax exemptions or we lose state licenses for refusing to teach "gay-friendly" curricula. Take it you like, Thomas: I have reason to FEAR the advancing public approbation of this vicious behavior.

What is all the fuss? The Cal State University I attended last year prepares future teachers in its classes by helping us to understand diversity to include same-sex marriage. We were instructed to impart this message to our own future students. If parents wants to have a different education for their children, then that person will have to pay for it from their own pocket. Perhaps this a reason that state vouchers for private education are so vehemently opposed by people with a vested interest in public education.

Posted Monday, October 13, 2008 12:49 PM By Margaret
Thank you Grisha for providing important details not included in the article. This was an optional field trip with parental permission. As such, the field trip reflects the will of the people involved and the parents' rights to have their children taught in accord with their beliefs.

Lest we forget, the discretionary time on Niederauer's current calendar is being used to set the Speaker straight on church doctrine, and since the Arnie is not his problem, the Mayor will certainly be next up &, of course his next success story.

Posted Monday, October 13, 2008 1:14 PM By St. Christopher
"Grisha" and "Margaret", this perversity of permitting small children to attend a gay marriage will become the norm if Proposition 8 is not passed. Homosexual people are free in America to do what they will, in private. However, as a citizen I am free not to be required to share in the obsenity. Children should never be exposed to homosexuality as a "normal" activity. CA has a chance to assert its will and should not feel guilty to false claims of "discrimination." All laws discriminate. Marriage and child-centered families are to be reserved only to man-woman relationships. God help CA.

John Z, you ask what the Catholics in San Francisco are doing about PROP 8? We are participating in 'phone banks' calling people and informing them of all the ramifications such as in this article. We are going door to door with flyers to people's homes, we are putting up yard signs (though we must take them down at sundown as the other side takes them away) we are speaking to everyone from people in the supermarkets to our families of what this PROP means, really means!!!!!!! And with the help of Mr. Newsom on the Prop 8 ad, more money is being contributed and another commercial is already being aired.... And perhaps with this new sad event, another commercial might be in the works.... Pray for these little ones and all little ones....... For those who harm them in any way will have to answer to our Lord!!!!!!!!!!!

After the homosexual wedding field trip, did the charter school take the first graders to a medicinal marajuana club or an S&M club for further education? Why not a field trip to see Rev. Wright or Fr. Phleger in action?

First, the mayor who officiated a the same sex affair is supposed to be Catholic, really he represents the devil and second. who authorized the first grade class to go to the affair? The parents whose children attended, should be up in arms. How degrading can the school system become. Californians, VOTE YES ON PROPOSITION 8.

Posted Monday, October 13, 2008 3:22 PM By Pat
"St. Christopher", the school didn't "require" anyone to attend. It was with their parents' knowledge and consent, and there's nothing in the story about any "perverse" acts. I suppose the two women held hands, hugged and kissed each other, but the Bible admirably describes persons of the same sex doing those things too. Should I forbid my children to read the Bible?

This is good in SF because gender neutral marriages will be the norm and not the exception. With science advancing, women no longer need men to have babies and men can use surrogate mothers. These little children must learn very young to know what is normal in an advanced post-morality city. Shame on the parents who think otherwise! Don't be critical bigots about our city because this type of change is coming to your city after November and the fascist initiative is defeated.

Horace, the only reason that your city, SF, has not fallen into the sea is because of the one righteous man still there, namely Grisha.

Posted Monday, October 13, 2008 11:06 PM By JLS
Michelle K. Gross, maybe the state university system should be disbanded in the event it should come to no longer have any moral people enrolled or on staff ... like Sodom, which God would have spared had only a few righteous men been found there. Diversity is simply a political term for abomination. Man is made in the image and likeness of God, and God is not diverse; therefore, man is not meant to be diverse. Those errant minds who theorize that perverts are in the same class as races or genders represent indeed the epitome of "dumbed down" education. When you dumb down a primordial aspect of human nature, then you lose your soul ... and that is what the government is selling you. Homosexuality is the consequence of sin; which means that it is not only a sin, but from it springs pure evil. There is nothing benign about homosexual advocation; it is not diverse, but perverse. You need to study the difference.

Kenneth, I don't see why you have to use name calling to show your prejudice. Barak Obama is a Christian. I am glad that you are so perfect that you have never committed a sin and are better than the rest of us. Jesus said, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." For all you know, some gay people may have a purer heart than you do, sir. I haven't been around much but to hear the hate here saddens me. Peace to you.

I would like to add that Fr. Corapi never mentioned Mayor Newsome's name when he made his comment, "Your arms are too short to box with God." I was applying it to Newsome. I should not have mentioned the good Father's name. I would not want to get him into trouble for saying something he did not, and we definitely need a spell check on this site.

Horace, everything you said in your post makes even more clear how disordered homosexuality is! It is not normal or natural because there is no normal or natural end. They must use science, surrogates and beakers to concieve and carry to full term a child! I would like to know what the wording was on the permission slip that went home to those parents. It may have only been a permission slip to go to city hall, omiting the part about what was to be taking place when they got there. And how many of those parents really read that note to begin with, perhaps just signing it and sending it back! The homosexual agenda will be pushed on society through any back door they find! (no pun intended)

There is a striking resemblence here on how the corrupt gays-lesbians today and the Nazi Party criminals in Germany acted in the 1930s and 1940s. Both are indoctrinating our innocent children through trickery and deceiving the parents of what is going on to gain acceptance of their sinful decadent lifestyles. The gays-lesbians know how successfull Hitler was in brain-washing the young back then. If it hadn't been for the defeat of Hitler by moral nations where would the world be today? Oddly, few moral peoples and nations similarily want to stand up against the gays-lesbians. Is it because good people don't want to be labeled and branded as "hate-criminals" and thus don't get involved? Those non-pacifists in the 1930s and 1940s who did march and fight against the evil of Nazism were considered criminals of the state, sent to concentration camps and well you know the rest of the story. The parents of these innocents should sue the school for all they can squeeze out of it and the school administration tried as criminals for abusing our children. When is it all going to stop? Not until each and everyone of us, the silent majority, gets involved, speaks out, and most importantly prays for its end. Pray the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorius Mysteries to Our Lady of the Rosary for her help.

Adolf Hitler was known to say, “He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.” Are these people serving children, or using the children to serve themselves?

Posted Tuesday, October 14, 2008 4:57 PM By Anne T.
Some of the people who come onto this blog, much like Hitler, are using their immoral propaganda to destroy heterosexual marriage, indoctrinate children into having perverted sex, push cannabalistic embronic stem-cell research (instead of cord-blood stem cell research), etc. They are using some of our children and grandchildren as pawns in their Hitlerean End Game.

Cyrus Johnson I love what you posted. You are right, they use children to serve themselves. They are scandelizing children and they will all have to answer to God for that. I would hate to be in their shoes. This news has only made more people want to vote yes on 8. And for the parents who allowed their children to attend, they are abusing their children! They are terrible parents in my book!

Posted Tuesday, October 14, 2008 10:06 PM By Kenneth M. Fisher
Mark Davenport, Barak Hussein Obama is a Christian because he says he is! What are you using for intelligence? No true Christian is for the killing of the unborn, especially the killing of the already born (Born Alive Protection Act he has always opposed). No true Christian is for the sodomy, No true Christian would support the likes of Bernadette Dorn, William Ayers, and yes Rev. Wright. No true Christian would be involved in ACORN and other Alynskian organizations. Our Lord said "not eveyone who says Lord Lord will be allowed to enter the Kingdom of God". He also said "Blessed are you who are persecuted and reviled (called hateful and prejudiced ) for my sake, for yours shall be Kingdom of God". St Paul wrote "there will come a time when they will call evil good and good evil". I have a suspicion that your idea of peace is actually slavery to the all evil and powerful State. Obama is a psuedo Christian and only because when he arrived in Chicago, he was told that if he wanted to succeed in politics, he needed to join a church. He joined the most radical psuedo Christian church he could find. (It is Christian in name only and incredibly racist and America-hating.) If Prop 8 passes and Obama wins, he will find a way to circumvent it. Look at his education programs 0 to 5 and K to 8 sex ed. The first one with expand public education so that the liberals can brainwash our children in their most formidable years. The other educates the children as young as kindergarten on sex, age appropriate of course! As for abortion, he has gone on record to see that F.O.C.A. is passed which will allow abortion up to 9 months for unspecified medical reasons and negates ALL state laws to limit abortion. Please tell me how any practicing Catholic can vote for this man??????

Kenneth, I am pro-life. I have reservations about Obama because of this. However, McCain committed adultury against his first wife. He divorced her and remarried so he is not in a sacramental marriage. Sarah Palin was baptized Catholic but is no longer Catholic. Obama in NOT a Muslim but his father was. Biden is a Catholic. He is personally pro-life and hopefully can be convinced to become even more pro-life when elected. I realize that some people will not vote for Obama because he is bi-racial/African American. When he was born inter-racial marriage was illegal in many states. In the 1960's over 80% of Americans were against inter-racial marriage. Many people thought that it was an abomination. The Catholic Church in the US was against it. In many states a priest would be in big trouble if he perfomed such a ceremony. In 1967, the Supreme Court ruled that anti-miscegnation laws were unconstitutional. The Church grudgingly had to accept inter-racial marriage and even allowed them even thought most Catholic were against it. It is not a big issue in the Church today.

How do people reconcile the following Obama positions with Catholic Social Teachings: 1) He has gone well out of his way to promised to prosecute the war in Afghanistan more vigorously by sending 10,000 EXTRA U.S. Troops, making incursions into Pakistan if necessary. 2) Senator Obama is in favor of the death penalty. As he said in his book, The Audacity of Hope, "I believe there are some crimes--mass murder, the rape and murder of a child--so heinous, so beyond the pale, that the community is justified in expressing the full measure of its outrage by meting out the ultimate punishment." 3) Senator Obama opposed and has pledged to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act. 4) He wants to lift the restrictions on embryonic stem-cell research and has co-sponsored a bill that would authorize the large-scale industrial production of human embryos for use in biomedical research in which they would be killed. 5) he voted against a law banning the killing of infants that survive abortions FOUR TIMES, 6) he has pledged to sign the Freedom of Choice Act into law, which he U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Pro-Life Secretariat has urged clear, vigilant, and persistent advocacy against because if enacted, it would sweep away hundreds of pro-life laws and policies at the state and federal levels 7) he has pledged to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act. 8) He has pledged that abortion will be covered in his national health-insurance plan 9) he would roll back the faith-based initiative 10) He voted to teach kindergartners sex education about orientation and masturbation. 11) He sued Citibank to force them to give out subprime loans to people citibank knew couldn't afford them. 12) he has voted twice to help minors conceal abortions from their parents 13) He advocates repeal of the Hyde Amendment, the law that since 1976 has blocked almost all federal funding of abortion 14) he has opposed key provisions of the Act, including providing coverage of unborn children in the State Children's Health Insurance Program (S-CHIP) 15) he has not endorsed or offered support for the Pregnant Women Support Act, the signature bill of Democrats for Life, meant to reduce abort

Mark from PA: Catholic Church was against interracial marriage? Where did you get that? St. Martin de Porres was of mixed-race. Paula W, Cyrus, and Anne. You all seem to get it. If these students parents were tricked into letting their little innocent children going to the sleezy ceremony then that false pretense and maybe grounds for kid-napping charges! For those of you who are really catholic, there is only one choice for president and that is Mr. McCain. Yes we may not find him a very attractive candidate, but we can not in good conscience vote for and elect a candidate that despises catholic and christian prinicples. Look at Mr Obama's record, his unaffordable promises, and can you say you believe him? Mr Barak Hussein Obama, his staff, and the democratic party are trying to deceive the voters. They speak out of both ends of their mouth depending on their audience. The liberal press is biased toward Obama and report only positive about him, not the true Obama and his lies. Has he proven to the voters with a real birth certificate that he is a real american citizen like you and I? That is a qualification you know! What if after the election and oath of office, it gets publicized he is not a citizen born in this country? That will set precedent for future generations. Maybe the Govenator will run in 2012! Oh another deceiver and his money! If you think change is good and that is what this nation needs, picking a radical inexperienced candidate like Obama, then even after GW's mistakes, You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet. Obama will flush the country down the immoral sewer, and like Clinton wanting to look tough donate our troops as terrorist police around the world, fighting not against Islam/Jihad. Do you really want to chance voting for Obama? GW signed the bill stealing your $700 B, but the demoncrats passed it. McCain might not give us a bright future, but at least its not a frightening and dark. Look at what the democratic-controlled legislature has done in the last few years--nothing but chaos and immorality. May God help us and protect our election system from cheating on 4 November.

There are parents who see nothing wrong with that, they even bragg about it. It is very sad. May our Lord have mercy and help these children, this will affect them and I pray for a miracle that the truth be made known to them sometime in their life, that living a homosexual lifestyle is a mortal sin.

Wrong, Bruce. Alan Keyes is Catholic and all his positions square with being Catholic, and he is on the American Independent Party ticket in California. If you vote for Keyes, then you will have a clear conscience. If you vote for McCain, then you will have some explaining to do when you are called to account for your sins. Yes, there are some advantages that appear palpable with McCain over Obama, but McCain pays tribute to the same power structures as his rival. If a vote for Obama is evil, then a vote for McCain is not free from evil ... if Reagan, and Bush I and Republican "pro-life" Congresses refused to end abortion, then how can you imagine McCain doing so? These people are in debt to big business, all of which wants the same end, and draconian population control is one of their indispensable tools. Governments and big business know how to make profit and gain power ... and they all insist on abortion. Alan Keyes is the only fully Catholic man running for president ... interesting, since we have 60 million Catholics supposedly in this nation, that only a handful will vote for an actual pro-life politician. When you say a vote for McCain is a vote for morality, what you are doing is transposing an image of Christ over a photo of McCain and voting for Christ. Try voting for Christ living in Alan Keyes and not simply a picture of Him pasted over the face of McCain.

JLS, If McCain were Catholic and Palin had not been taken out of the Church as a child, I could agree 100% with you for the most part; McCain attends a church that does not consider his multiple marriages as adultery, and even though Bush may not have done everything we wanted him to do, he did do quite alot. Where do you think the so called Supreme Court would be today if we had elected "Catholic Kerry"? I understand what you are saying regarding McCain but (here it goes folks) if we don't vote for him chances are Obama will win more votes and we will see more children die at the hands of abortionists, morality will change to the worst. So in good conscious we need to vote for McCain not someone who has no chances of winning. VOTE McCain/Palin, they are known to be strong pro-life candidates. Did you know that Obama voted to let a baby die if it survived an abortion, if they made it alive once out of the womb, he voted it was ok to let the child sit in the corner and die without medical care. How crazy and uncaring can this man be!!! VERY! It breaks my heart that a poor defenseless child has no rights under Obama's believes and prochoice views! He is worst than an animal! Not much different than Hitler if you ask me, that is my opinion. I still pray for him daily. I do but I can't help feel upset when I think of what his views are towards the unborn.

It is a sin to vote for who you want, Then why bother to vote at all if you really believe that.

The Republicans are not going to stop abortion ... What we are watching is a team orchestrated by the same big money/power people. Both candidates are blowing smoke in our ears. These candidates are the tools being used to manipulate the public. It is not by any means a contest between more or less abortion, but a means to find out how far they can push or pull the nation on moral issues. Like any lion tamer, they will not let the lion break free.

The Republicans might not stop abortion but at least they won't add to it like the Democrats will. and if Obama wins, you betcha that it will grow in numbers. Plus most Republicans are pro-life, so to make a statement that they won't stop abortion cannot be factual because most Republicans I know, are truly fighting the good fight to help end it. It is they who are at the abortion clinics praying and hoping. So yes we might not end abortion, that is for God to bring forth that miracle but we can help and trust in a higher power to help. Also I have met a many great faithful Republicans who helped end abortion in the life's of women who were contemplating to having an abortion, they helped it end in that person, one person at a time! They helped it end in that one person, another child saved from the hands of an abortionist. An adoption was the outcome, and to actually hold that baby boy, was such a mirable. This couple I met saved this baby from being killed, if you ask me, they helped that mother, choose life and abortion ended for that woman. So some Republicans have helped end abortion, one person at a time. Our prayers are the key to that success.

Now regarding this post of indoctronation of children: What I can't stand is when they want to force their lifestyle on others, they want to change the laws and force Christians or non Christians to accept their unions, their lifestyle by indoctronating our youth into confusion and acceptance of this very disfunctional lifestyle. It is a disfunctional lifestyle that should be looked at as an illness (both spiritually and emotionally) and the medical establishement help them and the church should not keep on looking the other way and truly help them walk a path that will ultimately lead them to repentance and conversion. Those are my 2 cents.
